can't replace an image via ftp

Hi, I've been using zenphoto for a few months, and it works great, but now I need to replace the images, by uploading new ones with the same names. It should work, using ftp, but it doesn't. I can upload files into the root album folder (I know I shouldn't be doing that), but not inside the album folders itself. FTP says "transfer complete. 0 bites transferred". I can't add new images to the albums or replace existing ones. What could be the problem? Albums' permissions are set to 777. Thanks!

You should contact your host as this might be a server configuration issue with the ftp user.

777 is pretty lax permissions so that should work (and is not really recommended actually). Uploading images with the albums folder is not really bad, it just should do nothing..;-)
  • Thanks, ftp works fine. I've created another zenphoto installation just to check, and I can add and replace images via ftp there just fine. So, could it be some sort of a setting in the admin or somewhere that I've changed? I've looked everywhere, and can't find what could be causing this.

As said FTP is the resort of the server and Zenphoto has no control about that. Check if the user assigned to the folder is the same as on the install where it works.
  • Thank you! The problem was with the server, the host has fixed that.
