Mixing themes

Hello,

I would like to to find out if it's possible to have an index page like Stopdesign page and album & picture display in the fashion of Pure Dark (or default dark).

I've had a look at the different php files and I'm having a lot of difficulties to find out where I can make the changes.

If you have any advice on how I can start or where I should look, I'd appreciate a lot.
