Missing .htaccess file?

Hey guys. Where is the .htaccess file supposed to be when I install ZenPhoto? I'm guessing in the main ZenPhoto directory of the site, is that right? If so, it's not there! I think I am running version 1.0.7 - thanks!

Also, forgot to mention, on my installation, I have the cult-free URLs disabled because when they're enabled, I get 404 errors all around, and site doesn't seem to be pointing to the right places to create albums, store/view pictures, thumbnails, etc. Thanks!
  • Hello Lasha,

First, you should upgrade to zenphoto 1.0.8.2, the latest stable version of zenphoto. If you don't really which version you're currently running, just login to the admin interface, the version of zenphoto is displayed in the bottom right of this interface.

Then, you're right. The .htaccess file is in the main directory of zenphoto (in the same directory which contains the zen directory). But this file is hidden (it starts whith a ".") so your FTP software shouldn't see it by default. There is always an option in these software to eneable displaying hidden files.

I have enabled viewing hidden files and it is still not there. This is very strange, and yes, I am running 1.0.7. Is there a way I can manually create this .htaccess file or for someone to send it to me, somehow?

Also, La0c00n, I sent you an email. Did you get it?
  • I'm sorry Lasha, but i didn't get your mail !
Send it to lao.geek _at_ gmail.com

Okay. Send it again to the same address. Maybe it got caught as spam.

Okay, since I still don't have a .htaccess file, is there a way I can make my own, and paste whatever code is supposed to be in there to get the nice URLs to work? Thanks!

Never mind, it turns out that my Mac wasn't showing hidden files, just when I transfered over the zenphoto folder onto my server, it didn't move the .htaccess file either. I downloaded Cocktail (Mac utility application), enabled viewing hidden files, then transfered it over. Very nice. :)
