View gallery from root directory

Hello!

Does anyone have an idea of a good way to make Zenphoto work in the root directory of a website, while installed in a subdirectory?

My dream would be that not only would the index page be seen when visiting http://example.com, but also when one'd click an album the path would appear to be http://example.com/album instead of http://example.com/zen/album.

Any ideas would be most appreciated!

Thank you.

Just install it in the root directory. That's the simplest, most correct solution.

If you really want it in a subdirectory (I don't see why...), you could also move Zenphoto's .htaccess file up to the main directory and change its RewriteBase and all the Rewrite strings to point to the subdirectory. No guarantees with this - it might work, it might not.

Just install it where you want it to be :) Much simpler.
  • Oh it's all because i'm a neat freak when it comes to my digital world, wish my house was as well taken care of as my hard drive. ehm. Basically I don't like mixing the zenphoto directories and files with all the other ones on my server, they get lost in between. It would feel so nice to have them all in one place. :)

Thanks for the quick response, however! I will try and see what I can do.

Love this little gadget of yours, bytheway, the best I ever saw!

Check the options of your host. Most hosts allow to relink a domain directory to a subfolder, even with several domains. I have done this, not with zenphoto itself, but with other installations.
