Install problem probably modrewrite problem

Hello,

I am new to Zenphoto. Just installed it half an hour ago. I must say i love the simplicity of this Software, but Documentation for the Installation needs some serious work, its just much toooo short.

I setup everything as was described in the Installation Notes, made the chmod changes to the two writable folders, set a adminpw and created the database with correct pw etc. I wasn't going to use other websites in the same database, so i tried it without a tableprefix fist and then when it didn't work i added a table prefix in the config.php. Zenphoto is installed directly under my domain, so modrewrite is set to /.
I diddn't change anything else.

My error is the following:
`MySQL Query ( SELECT name, value FROM options ) Failed. Error: Table 'ds-5.options' doesn't exist

It looks like your zenphoto tables haven't been created. You may need to run the setup script.`

Everytime i klick ion setup it reloads the same page again but added a zp-core folder to the URL. After a few klicks on the setuplink it looks like this:

I hope that anybody can give me a hint, it does look like a banal problem but i have tried everything i knew and i don't know what yould be the problem.

Comments

  • +1 exactly the same problem.
  • Guys, this problem is in 1.1.1 and will be fixed in 1.1.2, which you can download the pre-release here: http://www.zenphoto.org/files/nightly/

    We apologize for the problem.
  • Thank's for this great job sir !
  • very quick help, but sadly the linked version has the same problem.
I took the latest file in the nightly folder but it seems to be the same version, 1.1.1 ist the newest Entry in the changelog. I tried some other packages also the latest.tar.gz but its again only 1.1.1. Could you give me the direct Filename?

Is this a General problem occuring on all PCs or is it just a casional bug with some Apaches?

@luna: what file did you download that it worked for you?
  • its not the same version as 1.1.1 we just havent added the line for 1.1.2 yet
  • @Davidzo: yes, it works for me with the last nightly build.
  • i guess version numbers are important, how would you know if it was the old one or the new one? especially in opensource software please let the first thing you edit be the version number ;)
oh, i was stupid. I just had to clear the browsercache. The nightly version works formidable for me now, thanks!
