How do you integrate Search?

Hello!

I am wondering how you integrate the search function into a zenphoto theme with thumb compatibility! I can get it working without thumbs but not with. I'm a web designer but I've only dabbled a little in PHP and don't quite know what to look for or edit in someone else's code.

My website was hacked a few days ago causing any page to redirect to porn and I had to clean off all my files. ZP is the only thing on my server right now so it'd be great if I could get it completely working!

I'm trying to do a mix of the stopdesign and thinkdreams themes, so I don't know if that's interfering at all.

My url for my ZenPhoto gallery is:

  • What is it that you want to do? (Search seems to be available on your site.) Basically, you use the printSearchForm() function to put the search button where you want it and you careate a search.php page that displays the result of the search. Copying from the existing themes is a good way to start.
  • I'm wondering how to properly integrate the search function... it doesn't work properly on my site, no. You cannot see any thumbnails!

If someone else could describe how they integrated it with thumb support that might help.

copying over the search.php and using the printSearchForm() is how I got it to work this far, but its just got that little bit further to go!

Thanks for the help everyone! :)
  • There must be something wrong with your CSS file. Album search results show up as thumbs. The right HTML is there for the image thumbs.

Try comparing what you have to the released stopdesign. Also be sure that the released stopdesign works correctly for you.
  • Good good, thank you! I shall try that later tonight!
Thanks for your prompt replies! :)
  • Also, the stopdesign works, so I believe if I compare the two I should be able to get something working. Thanks again!
  • Hello,

I've integrated the Search function in my gallery. It's perfect, except one thing : as I am french, I would like to see "Recheche" in place of "Search" in the button.

I thought I would be able to find it by myself... but without success ! :-(

Thanks for your answer, and congratulations for that new 1.1 version. New features (Search, EXIF, RSS, Sub-albums admin) looks great. The only thing still missing for me is the ability to move albums without loosing comments. I red it is "on the track". I can wait. I am Zen !

    Thanks again,
  • The button is created in the function `printSearchForm` which is found in template-functions.php. We hope to get internationalization going in the 1.3 release. Until then you will have to patch this function.
