Protect gallery

I have try ZP, and i'm in love !
But there is one thing that I am trying to do.

I just want to protect a gallery. I've try to put an .htaccess for protect a forder, but everybody can see the files, so it don't work.
How can I do this ???

I also think that you can make some files languages... With choice in the admin panel !
It's not difficult to translate !

And to finish, i want to know if it is allowed to mod your files ????
