Tris, it's not fair to set me under pressure in public...:-)
PeterM, no, sorry, it's still under developement and needs still tweaking and testing before I can put it out in any way. Anyway, since it's got its unofficial preannouncement now, it's called zenPage and will (hopefully) enable zenphoto to run mainly gallery focused sites completly.
I am also very interested in zenPage. I too currently use wordpress for two 'gallery' sites but it is really overkill as they are primarily galleries with the occasional news/blog but have ended up being galleries hacked on to wordpress. I would love to convert them both to zenphoto and use zenPage.
Oh! Yes I'd like it too! Do you want a tester for Zenpage? Although familiar with wordpress it seems to go against the grain of using a zen gallery for its simplicity and then have to additionally install a WP for the sake of having an "about the artist" page and a "contact the artist" page. but I've spent too much time trying to figure any other way around it.
Thanks for your interesst, guys. Krinkle, that is exactly why I started it! My main testers will be my fellow developers, but once it's out (I sadly can't promise when that exactly would be, probably next month) you all are welcome to test it...:-)
hmmm I missed this thread... actually I am/was working on something like this too, to get rid of wordpress which is only on my page for a few simple text with picture items.. I mentioned 'was' working on it because reading acryllian is working on it makes my approach probably very ridiculous...
Bert, I can imagine that this might be useful for you, too. Well, it never will be a repacement for a "real" blog though. I am pretty far with, it's already working, but there are a few details that need to be done (one is a proper demo theme) Seems that I really need to finish it soon...:-)
I think WordPress AND ZenPhoto together may be much more powerful than on their own... So better and easier (possible) integration between them would be great:)
See, WordPress is one of the best blog platforms of today, very well developed, going in a good direction (I hope so;-) and quite popular, with tons of plugins for it, some even make whole websites with WP, using it as a CMS and media engine, not only a blog!
On the other hand, ZenPhoto- relatively new software to me, which I have found by accident a few days ago -- looks very promising in relation to publishing and organizing photos in a nice, user-friendly (and site-owner friendly;-) way! This is one of the reasons I am so much interested in ZenPhoto these days and already started 'hacking' one of its themes to match 100% a website which I currently design...
So, combine them both, and you get quite a powerful package! :-) I wouldn't get rid of my WP blog just to replace it with Zen, but, on the other hand, I would be very happy if I could add ZenPhoto to my website and integrate them in an invisible manner. Somewhere in the future -- I still don't have enough free time for me -- but I plan it
Thanks for your interesst. Sorry, I was a little busy recently with some non-zenphoto things and some zenphoto things like the coming feature plugins and the hopefully soon finished l18n (besides some smaller things). It's already turned into a plugin and I will try to finish it as soon as possible. (I want to use it myself, damm it...:-))

I might end up basing my entire site around Zen Photo!
