What I see is that this page is drawn directly from the directory my images are in. (Looking at the URL). So, there's nothing that comes into play. Therefore, to make it look any "better" than it does, there would have to be a PHP file that calls (when the Image Page image is clicked) the page and then CSS that formats it. And probably the prev/next code to click for navigating.
Is this the idiot's summary of what I guess is a "manual" slideshow (for lack of a better term) page? I'm figuring that if I know what's required, maybe one day I'll know how to make it <SMILE>. I seem to think all the components are already "somewhere" in the existingg PHP Theme pages.
