Mod Rewrite refreshes

I thought I had Mod rewrite working and now when it's on it will refresh the index.php file only. Can't access galleries. Anybody have any idea's why? I have edited the stopdesign theme and maybe I touched something I should not have.

    The easiest way to debug this is to try an unmodified theme. If it works and yours does not, then you have stepped on something. If the unmodified theme fails then there is a mod_rewrite problem on you server and you will just have to leave it off.
