pre-cache error: the requested object was not found.

I have been using the pre-cache images in the overview tab with no problem. But now i have 2000 images in the gallery and needed to cache an album at a time. So selected a sub album and clicked the little blue icon to pre-cache those images. and i get Zenphoto Error: the requested object was not found. Please go back and try again.

Also clicking the orange icon to refresh metadata gives me the same error.

But if I click on the album title and list all of the images, there is a a link there to pre-cache images. That link actually works and caches the images for that album.

Another way i've tried is to click on 'mass-edit all album data.' the pre-cache link at the bottom of the page works but it will only cache the images from the album at the bottom of the list of albums.

I have tried purging the cache and refreshing the database.

only problem i've had so far. i love zenphoto :)
Using version 1.1.5 [1219]

  • Both these are working on 1.1.5 [1402] for me. Could you upgrade to this release (the 4/4/2008 nightly build) and see if the problem still exists?

The buttons at the bottom of the mass edit page should probably not be there. They seem to be left over from the single album edit page.
  • I downloaded the newest build, deleted zp-core and themes, then uploaded the new files. zenPhoto detected the new version and updated the db.
Tried the little blue pre-cache icon and got the same error message.

So then i created a new db and installed zenphoto in another folder. Uploaded a few albums and tried it, pre-cache button worked.

Hope that helps give you some idea about what it might be.
    Thanks for the help.
  • Just to see what would happen i uploaded my photos to the zenphoto with the working pre-cache button. Now the pre-cache is broke, with the same error.

So the problem occurs when i upload my photos.
Is there something particular about file names that i should be looking for that could cause this problem?
  • Problem solved,
My main folder name was called Current 00's
    the ' broke pre-cache.
removed it and now it works fine.

Hope this helps anybody who runs into this problem,
    and the development somehow
  • Folder names really shouldn't have charaters like "'" or '"' in them. We have several other issues with this happening. You can use the quotes in the titles no problem.

I know my ISP really has problems with these characters, even when they have been urlencoded.
