noob: registration and options information

registration username and password are separate from options/password?

i've set and saved my password in options within my account and the number of characters (dots) is short the number i used for my password: is there a character limit?

if i log out and log in my full character number works...is this a bug? should i worry?

The number of dots has no bearing on the length of the password. You wouldn't want to give any clues to the password, would you?
