We finally managed to finish a new theming tutorial: http://www.zenphoto.org/2008/05/theming-tutorial/
Actually it is a largely updated version of the old and now defunc tutorial that GameDudeX wrote way back then. Please note that the tutorial refers to the nightly build foreshadowing the next official release. We hope it will help you all to make your own custom galleries.

  • Took a quick look and think it's great! One other item tht would help: the CSS files (for the pages and slideshow). Not an explanation of what the styles are but how they apply to the page. It seems to be a lot of guessing what to modify to affect what. It is not as straightforward as you may think!

Default Theme (dark, light, maybe the other 2 never tried them)
ie: .#main = this sets the appearance for the block sitting underneath the sized image on image.php
.pagelist = this sets the appearance of paging numbering on the index.php page

That way when creating a new theme, the corresponding CSS can be changed too. Or, just the CSS for the more timid :)

No, this would make it too big. Not even all standard themes use the same CSS style classes and ids nor do they need to. This is a tutorial to make a your own custom theme that does not need to use any of the classes or ids the standard themes do.
  • Macaltar, the WebDeveloper Toolbar, as a firefox extension, is the greatest tool to find find out which style is where in a page, give it a try ...
  • Thanks LpSoleil, I open 3 browsers while playing with ZP (forum, ZP, reference) one being Firefox so will look for the ext on the Firefox page.
  • Your link in the first post does not work
