Fatal error!

Okay, I've been trying to install for about 2 weeks now. I gave up and tried some other galleries which worked for me, but I think I like Zenphoto the best. I know the install is supposed to be simple, but I can't get through it cleanly. I posted a message about two weeks ago with no response. Please help if you can.

This is my fatal error message:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: printgallerytitle() in /homepages/6/XXXXXXXX/htdocs/zenphoto/index.php on line 4

I get a clean install. Click on admin and am able to see and work there but as soon as I click on "View Gallery" I get the above error.

  • Okay, 3 weeks and still no response. Is my question that stupid? I hate to be rude, but is this really a support forum?

Kurt, I apologize for missing your post. Just want to let you know that we're not promising support---we're not even promising a "simple install"---In fact, we're not promising anything! This is a beta version and you have to be willing to tinker. We just don't have time to help everyone.

For some reason, it looks like the template functions aren't getting included. This is a problem I haven't seen before, so I'll need more information if you can give it to me. The most important info would be if you know PHP or not, followed by your exact server and web paths, and a link to your gallery if you can.

So no, your question is not stupid, it's hard. Maybe that's why I skipped over it. Sorry.
  • Hey, thanks so much for getting back to me. Firstly, my PHP skills are limited. But, just out of curiosity I tried the .tar download instead of the zip for my latest install and things are now looking better. Strange, huh. I no longer get that error message, but I'm still having problems. It seems to me that the theme is not being loaded correctly and the gallery is striped of its css. Here's what it looks like at the moment:

Also, the admin path doesn't seem right when accessing it trough the gallery, although I'm able to access the admin panel directly.

    Any ideas?

  • Looks like I got it. This thread did it for me:

    Had to change functions.php.

    Thanks.

  • For anyone else out that with this problem, by mistake I overwrote my /index.php with my /theme/default/index.php file.

I'd been using Zenphoto for about a week, and was doing some customizing - and edited the wrong file.

Check your /index.php to be sure it is correct. Sometimes empty spaces can cause problems too.
