Zen and MySQL3.23

Hallo my hosting provides me a MySQL 3.23 not upgradeable. Is there any way to tweak Zenphoto to run against such database?

I am in the same situation as the poster above? I tried installing anyway, and, of course, I'm getting different errors...

Any way to hack this software a little to get it to play nice with 3.23
