one click via dreamhost upload problems

i try and upload a zip file of 117mb or so and i get a connection error.

is the only option for me to upload one by one? cause that will never happen.

i could use an ftp or something but when i'm trying to upload the only option i have is from my harddrive.

is this all due to the fact that i used a simple oneclick install?

i get frustrated easy!!!!

  • You might try uploading from individual files rather than the zip file. As to FTP, that is a good way to get images up. If it is not working you should consult your ISP support people.
  • thank you. is there instructions for those of us that used the 'one-click' easy install. cause i don't know how to use the ftp which is why i used the easy 'one-click' install to begin with. but i can follow directions pretty well. i'm planning to up load hundreds of photos so i'd rather not do them individually.

    A couple suggestions:

    1. You could try to create 4-5 zip files, dividing the big one in parts. They will extract the same way, and if they're below the upload limit then they might go through.

    2. The one-click install on Dreamhost doesn't allow access to the folder directly via FTP unfortunately. You can, however, install Zenphoto on your account separately, and then you can use FTP to upload. It's not too hard, and well worth it.
