Suggestion: A Simple Pages Plugin

For really simple photo websites, it would be nice to be able to create very simple pages such as "contact info" and the likes.

Since Zenphoto can easily create descriptions and titles for images it finds in folders, creating a plugin that adds very simple page management shouldn't be too much work?

Edit: So far, my ugly hack is to upload blank gif files in an album folder called "pages" and simply add descriptions to these images. When the album is unpublished, the images do not appear on the homepage.
A page would simply contain a headline and a description box. Nothing more. Like an image page without the image.

Possible? Done already? Anyone up for it?

Joen, I am working on a plugin for that called "zenpage" and I am nearly finished. I hope to put it up this month. Since there still are a few little things to do (and I am trying to a proper thing including a mini blog), I have to figure out a few things before I can release it.

I had previously posted some info about that here: http://www.zenphoto.org/support/topic.php?id=3041&replies=13#post-18288

Excellent! I really can't wait. Beautiful work, as always.
  • Looking forward to it. My attempts at following along the steps in the thread mentioned didn't work for me. (At least I knew it was _me_ as the poster got it working :) I guess I'm PHP challenged.
  • Hi acrylian, any news on the zenpage?

It will be out after zenphoto 1.2 which is scheduled to August 15, probably a week or so later. I plan to post a preannouncement soon with some previews.
  • Thanks acrylian - I look forward to it, as well as 1.2.
  • Hows progress!

Please hold your horses a little..:-) It is already a little more than a "simple pages" plugin (and I needed to catch up with some recent zenphoto changes like multilingual stuff and such), so I need to finish some documentation and a demo theme so you guys know how to use it. Preannouncement coming soon, I am just moving to another ISP. Sorry about the further delay.
