Simple+ & a "missing object" error

I have a completely fresh install of ZenPhoto. No modifications or plugins or anything. I'm attempting to use the Simple+ theme. It displays just fine, but when you click on any of the images, it gives me an error: "Zenphoto Error: the requested object was not found. Please go back and try again."

I know by default the simple+ theme displays the images with a slimbox script. I also have this same configuration installed elsewhere on my server, which works fine.

Anyone know what's going on here?

  • The usual cause of this is that you are using mod_rewrite but your server does not support it. Try turning off that option. Also try running one of the distributed themes to see if it works.
  • I checked with my hosting provider and verified that the server does support Mod_rewrite.

If I switch off the mod_rewrite option, the simple+ theme no longer delivers the error message, but also doesn't use the lightbox.

I also did switch to one of the distributed themes. They all seem to work fine. With, or without, the mod_rewrite enabled.

So, it seems that the problem is with simple+, but I don't quite understand what's happened, since the zenphoto installation and simple+ are completely unmodified. Is there something else I might have botched in my installation? Or perhaps some other setting that might need to be adjusted?

I'm mostly perplexed because elsewhere on the same server I have another installation of Zenphoto running simple+ without any problems like this. The only difference in the two scenarios I can think of is this time I'm using whatever the most recent release of Zenphoto is.
  • Since simple+ is not part of the zenphoto distribution it is possible that it needs to be updated to work with the current zenphoto rlease. Since the distributed themes seem to work this is most likely the case. sorry, but I have no familiarity with simple+.
  • Fair enough. Thanks for the help! :)
