Subdomain Installation

Hey guys,

I've just recently got my website up and running and installed ZenPhoto on the subdomain 'gallery' (gallery.bazalicious.com and its directory being bazalicious.com/gallery). I added the album 'Photoshop' and added an image to it, but the problem is that when I access the album using 'gallery.bazalicious.com/photoshop' it gives me a '500 Internal Server Error' but if I access it using 'bazalicious.com/gallery/photoshop' it works ok.

Any solutions that I can use to make it work using 'gallery.bazalicious.com/photoshop'?

Any help is appreciated.

I just had the very same error, and was looking for how to fix it too!

The default .htaccess file should be residing in bazalicious.com/gallery

my issue was extra text below the </IfModule> line at the end. I had "Options All -Indexes" and "Options All" down there, I believe they are put there by cPanel is you do things to hide directories.

I have just tried to access http://gallery.bazalicious.com/ and the domain could not be resolved. Have you actually set it up yet in your hosting provider's control panel?
  • Woops, sorry, I took away the subdomain and just installed the gallery to bazalicious.com/gallery

So what do you think I should to try and fix the problem?

The error for http://gallery.bazalicious.com/ is "Name Error: The domain name does not exist" - the only errors I was getting were "500 internal server error" messages.

Are you sure that you have set up the subdomain with your hosting provider yet? If they are using cPanel then this is how you go about it:

  • I had the subdomain set up at 'gallery.bazalicious.com' but got tired of the gallery not working, so I took it away and instead just installed the gallery into 'bazalicious.com/gallery'
