why doesn't the theme change?

sorry i don't quite understand when i change a theme, why it doesn't change on all the pages. when i visit a gallery or image, it still have the default theme going :S

    You were changing themes for your albums and not your entire gallery. Log back into zenphoto admin and click on the Themes tab. You should see a drop down menu at the top for "Show theme for". If you want all albums to have the same theme, select each album and click the red circle with the "x" in it. This will unassign the theme you previously set for that album. Once all albums are no longer assigned to a particular theme, they will use the default theme you set for your gallery.

    i'm not sure that's the reasoning for this. because when i click on a gallery to assign a theme it says "no theme assigned, defaulting to Gallery theme" already, so all the galleries should all be the same. couple more points, when i choose a theme for the entire site, when i go into a gallery the theme may be the one i had previously, then when i click on one image it has a different theme all together, then when i click "prev" or "next" it has the other theme. buuuuuuut when i visit that image that has a different them from the one i selected, and click refresh, the theme i just choose comes up.

    i hope you understand all that lol if you don't i can make a video of me doing all this :P

    Let us first define some zenphoto terms so that we don't miss each other: With "gallery" we actually refer to the zenphoto installation in total with all it's albums and images, what you probably mean with "a gallery" is an "album" . You can set special themes called "album themes" for each albums on its edit page via a dropdown menu, what you probably did. You have to disable themes on each album and then you can set a "global" theme on the main admin plugins tab. Does that help?

    lol ok i meant album :P

    but no there is no specific theme for an album, i have one theme for the entire site :S

    (i'll make a video so you can see what happens, or doesn't happen)

    This looks like a caching issue. Are you using some type of "Internet Accelerator" software? Does the problem go away when flushing the browser cache every time you change your theme?

    ok i cleared the cache from firefox and it seems to be fine. my only concern though, having a visitor who is viewing an old theme because they don't know to do what i did :S also, i checked "flock" and "ie" and they both were having the cache problem. i really like the script so i guess i'll deal with this, and hopefully find a way to fix it later :D

    Normally you wouldn't be changing the theme very often once you get your site set up, so it shouldn't be a concern. Also note that closing and reopening the browser should have the same effect as flushing the cache.

    For what it's worth, you will likely see the same behavior regardless of which software you use on your website.
