remove album passwords

I have a really weird password problem that results in nearly all my albums showing as locked when I view my gallery index page. The strange thing is that the locked albums are not the same in IE and Firefox. And the bad thing is I can not remove the password protection from those albums in the admin interface.

The problem happened after I noticed that whenever I edit an album and tried to save the edits, I get this message "Your passwords did not match: So, trying to fix the error message, and thinking that the edits were not saved because of the error message, I went over the albums and entered the password in the album password repeat field for probably all albums, maybe I missed a couple. This removed the error message.

Next, I password protected a private album, entering a different user name and password. This worked OK, in the front end I could view the album if I entered the new user/password. I did not find the new user though while in the admin interface.

Note that, zenphoto inserts by itself and "admin" user in the album guest user field and the hidden admin password in the password field. The repeat password field is empty. Even after if I clear them, when I save the edit, they get inserted again.

Now, I few days later, I check my albums and I have the problem described above. The admin interface does not show the additional new user, so I can not remove it. Deleting the admin user and password in the album edit and saving does not solve the problem, my albums are still locked and anyway, zenphoto inserts them again as described above. So I can only view my albums if I enter the admin login/password.

So my questions are:

- How can I remove the password lock from my albums?

- How can I prevent the admin interface from entering by itself the admin login/pass when I edit the albums?

- How can I remove the new user I added if I don't see the date in the admin interface?

I don't want to re-install zenphoto to clear the problem if I don't have to.
I have the 1.1.7 version, release 1842.

  • Sorry, you do have to reinstall zenphoto to resolve this problem. Use the current nightly build.
  • I saw others also had this kind of password problem. Is this a known problem/bug?

I did a re-install using the stable release. Regarding the 3 questions - are these addressed in the latest nightly build?
