Apparently that thread is dead. You could contact the user that planned that feature, but I guess you will not hava any luck with that. A quick look at his site shows he seems not to use zenphoto anymore.
That post is about a plugin someone else who was not on the Zenphoto team was working on, and the feature was not due to be part of the Zenphoto core. You will have to go to his site and try contacting him directly, he may not check these forums.
I tried to find somewhere in the code for the ignore unpublished albums/images etc, in the search feature. I looked in search.php and index.php and theme index.php and im not sure how zenphoto works yet so I dunno where to look... If its easy I could probably do it myself... If I know where to look
Searches do not return unpublished albums or invisible images. However, you can place images (or alubms) in an unpublished album. These will not be visible to the general public unless they know the link. But they will be searchable so you can tag them and use searches or dynamic albums to create your event pages.
So your saying I need to check the check box for each image that I want to use as a tag for an event? That isn't very efficient... Some events could have hundreds of images...
But then, don't you flag your images as to what event they were for? That is what I do. I don't use zenphoto for that, though, I use the metadata of the image. Adobe bridge does a really nice job of assigning tags to groups of images.

"Enter either the number 100 or 200 for event ID's and you will be redirected to hidden albums."
I see what you mean now though about the albums
