different passwords for different albums

hi I'm a newbie here, but i've searched around for the answer but with no luck. My problem is, that a want to set different passwords to differnet albums. I cannot make that work! I have tried to go to [edit] - album and set guest password, but its not working.

Anf if i go to [options]-[gallery configuration] I can set a guest password, but that will work on every album.

How to set a password to a certain album only? And how to set different passwords? Please help

Album passwords can be set on each albums edit page. You should not need to set an additional guest user on hte gallery configuration.

If that is not working you are probably not correctly logged out, the logged in admin sees and has access to all.
  • OK, so I tried that. When I go to the edit album section and set an album password, the album shows up as protected. But when i try to log in I got the message: "There was an error logging in. Check your user and password and try again." ??

Yes, I'm sure i typed the password correct. Any clues? And btw, thanks for this quick reply!
  • Try again setting the user/password for your album. If you have set a user you are required to enter one when logging in. If you have not set one, then one must not be entered.

If you have set a password on both the gallery and an album, to login to the album you need use the album password.
  • OK, now I tried this. I have only a password on the album (1 of 3), and that album shows up as protected. But im not allowed to log in? I do not get the same error message as last post, but i'm getting returned to the index.php page. (this text is added after index.php ?userlog=1#)??
  • You may be having problems saving cookies. You should do two things. First, install the nightly build. Second set the option for gallery sessions.
  • OK, anothr stupid ? . How do I upgrade from to nightly build, do I lose all images uploaded??

Ive tried sessions before, but with the same result.
  • You can download the nightly from http://www.zenphoto.org/files/nightly/. It installs just like the regular release. No data or images will be lost. If in doubt, review the installation instructions: http://www.zenphoto.org/2008/08/installation-and-upgrading/
  • OK I will try this later. Do I have to remove all the original files from my server before I upload? (except config)
