api

It wouldn't be a bad idea to create an api that allows for us to search for, upload, and get photos. In addition, it would be nice to reimpliment the flickr API, so that we could use one of the many already written open source applications, and just change a few lines of code.

Woah, yeah, cool idea. I'll look into the feasability of reimplementing the flickr api, but I think we'd run into problems... like the fact that the organizational system on flickr is completely different. But for ZP, an API would definitely be useful, so yeah, consider it on the list.

some sort of api would be great, so if i use a program like f-spot (which allows gallery2 uploads) i can upload directly from f-spot. It might also be worthwhile to look at gallery2's api
  • Is this idea still alive? Having an api to update zp database from popular photo management software could be interesting. That would save duplicating efforts for tagging and commenting photos and would certainly be very useful (at least if reliable!) Would it be possible to build a plugin for that?
