Images not being indexed - continued.

Hi All,

I've posted here before about none of my gallery images being indexed in Google. After about 6 months I'm at my whits end. I had previously used Ruzee's method to include my Wordpress header. With the latest update I rebuilt my theme to use a basic Wordpress include as some people mentioned that the problem might be with Ruzee's method. Still no Google love.

My site is set up as an art gallery. Each artist is given an album and sometimes sub-albums. The title of teach image is simply the jpg title that the artists send me.

My question is this...

If Zenphoto is set up to us the image title as alt text can I change the setting so that I can enter alt text in the custom data field instead - as I don't want to change the artist jpg name?

Would this help me with Google?

I'd really appreciate any help as I can't understand why I'm not getting indexed.

P.S. I've tried the sitemap for Zenphoto with no luck.

  • maybe you could add some discription about the each ablum that google could index your gallery. I also happened your issue but one month later google has indexed some main ablum, while the photos could not all the same.

Sure you can do, you can change that in your theme via a parameter of the image print functions.

If that helps I can't say though.
  • Thanks acrylian,

I'm just having a look at Google Webmaster and I noticed that every one of my sub-albums brings up a 404 error. It seems to be changing my link from...

    http://phauxshow.com/gallery/dmitry-borisov/storyboards/1.jpg.php

    to

    http://phauxshow.com/gallery/dmitry-borisov/storyboards/1.jpg.php

Any idea why this is happening?

I have about 700 images in the sub-albums!

Sorry, I have no idea and I am also not familiar with Google Webmaster at all.
