flv movies not playing in either player

...and I can't for the life of me figure out why they're being so stubborn.

I'm running off of an IIS server, with currently a 1.2 installation. I have modified the php for the photo galleries and have had great success with that, but encoding an .flv (tried encoding with Flash Video Encoder and some other converter I've since deleted) produces a file I can play on my home machine, but doesn't appear to work once it's sitting on the web server.

All rights seem to be appropriate, and I don't think there's anything particularly unusual about the files or installation, but the flowplayer and flv_player both sit at 0:00 and never begin playing my files. Zenphoto doesn't seem to have any issues locating and displaying the files as they're named. This issue doesn't appear to be affected by theme selection.

The flv format is actually a container not a format itself. Maybe you are using codecs that the players do not support. Please check that on the player's own sites. Note that we still use flv player 3 and not the newer 4 because that skipped some color options in favor of pure flash skinning. The plugin should be compatible with 4 but some options will not work then.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. It appears not to have been a codec issue, rather a missing MIME type on the server itself, which hadn't been directed with how to handle .flv file types.
