Sort Images in Albums by Hits

Thanks for the great script

Sorry if I've overlooked something, but is it possible to sort the images in each album by the amount of views (using the hit tracker), or maybe even by highest ratings (using the rating function)?

No, sorry. But you can use the image_album_statistics plugin to show the most viewed.
