Setting up zenphoto on a local ubuntu server

Hello

I have installed ubuntu server on a home network and I have installed the zenphoto gallery. What I would like to do is have zenphoto access the pictures from another directory, that is not part of the web.

I checked the zp-core.php file and saw info there, but it is not working for me. I the main folders to show up via browaser, but when I click on them I get page can not be displayed.

is this possible to do?

Would be greatly appreciated.

    Zenphoto is meant to run on a webserver and therefore the albums folder needs to be on that server, too. I believe recently someone did something similar with some alias links (or the like) for the folder. Please do a forum search as I don't remember that post.

    You can place the albums folder outside the WEB viewable path by appropriate modification of the zp-config.php file. However the PHP script still needs to be able to access the folder, so it must be accessable by the scripts. Additionally, some things do not work if the folder is not on the WEB path. Noteably flash players and anything else which is accessing the original image directly from the browser.
