Images size

im using the last version of zenphoto with stopdesign theme.

1- why there is no rating?? is it from the stopdesign dose not support rating?
2- in options>theme options> Image size: i have used 700 for the longest side but the pictures of size 480px × 320px appears in the gallery, i want to show bigger pictures in the gallery. how can i do it?
3- can i choose the crop image for album thumbnail like the photos themselves? or its not possible?

thank you in advance.

  • 1. As you surmise, Stopdesign does not provide this.
    2. Stopdesign is very specific in how it handles images so that its displays work properly. The bottom line is that it has hardcoded image sizes.
    3. Stopdesign uses custom thumbnail generation. It would have to be recoded to use the thumbnail cropping.
  • is that mean if i want to show bigger photos i must change the theme???

what theme is close to stopdesign and do all the job?!
  • Yes, if you want that theme and bigger images you have a fair amount of work cut out for yourself. http://www.zenphoto.org/zp/theme/ is what we know of themes. But remember, these may not be up-to-date with Zenphoto. The only themes we support are the ones delivered with the Zenphoto package.
  • too bad. because i like stopdesign theme. i wish i can use it and show bigger images than 480px × 320px

Well, you can but as sbillard said you have some work to do to customize that theme for your own requirements.
  • but i am not a web developer. anyone can help? i just want the photos to be published in a bigger size than 480px × 320px. its strange because the theme options determine the aize of the photos that u want to publish but it has no effect when u change this option.

This really is a major flub in the stopdesign theme. If they were going to hardcode the image size they should've made that clear from the beginning and not added an image size field in the admin area. Now that I've uploaded all of my images, I find that they've been scaled to 480px instead of 700px.

If you search in image.php in the theme's folder for 480 you'll find three places where you can change that to the number you want. You will also have to redo the theme's stylesheets to make it work with larger images, however. The whole theme is designed around very specific measurements and absolute positioning, so modifying this is a relatively complicated task.
