Wiki and Bugtracker are up..er... down--- no, UP!

We're pleased to announce that a brand new Wiki and Bugtracker have been installed and tested, and are now ready for your use!

The Wiki:
http://wiki.zenphoto.org/

The Bugtracker:
http://bugs.zenphoto.org/

They're run by Atlassian JIRA and Confluence, which you might notice are not open source, but they are some great pieces of software with free licenses for open source projects. We hope you enjoy them as much as we have been already.

Go make your accounts and start contributing! Make sure you search the bug database before submitting a new one, and please be nice to the Wiki and use good formatting (and good grammar ;-). We particularly need help with theme documentation, so all you theme developers out there can help with some good instructions and function docs.

Thanks everyone! I look forward to an even more active community building on these sites.

  • When viewing the wiki as a guest, I can see four spaces, yet when I log in the development and documentation spaces vanish.

Sorry, the permissions were off, should be fixed now...
  • Are you going to move the svn to here to or will that stay on berlios?
  • trisweb Administrator
We're doing fine with Berlios, and they have good backups, so we'll stick with them for now.

I'm getting a gateway timeout when I try to view the wiki and bugs website. Any ideas? This is the address on my address bar.

    Thanks,

You probably have port 8080 blocked.. are you at work?

We really should piggyback them on Apache under port 80... but it's a little more complicated...
  • qtrc Member
I forgot about port 8080 being blocked. Yeah, I was at work when I tried it. No biggie, I will check it out at home when I get a chance.

    Thanks.
  • OMG! Sweet! I can't believe I missed this!

    .... damn finals....
  • Is http://bugs.zenphoto.org up? I cant seem to access it. Have been trying for two days now.

[Edit] I just read the comments above. How do I unblock my port if its blocked?
  • Wiki and bug tracker is down until further notice from Tris.
  • Any idea when it may be up again? Kind of usefull really.... might be able to help with hosting if required.
  • trisweb Administrator
It is in fact down since 10-1-06... (pravin, it's not a blocked port).

What we really need is Java/Tomcat hosting for the old software we were using, but if it doesn't look like we'll get it then I can set up alternative PHP/MySQL versions, or use other services. I hate Berlios and Sourceforge though and would never use either. Anyone know of good others? (No, not trac either please...)
  • You can try using launchpad [ https://launchpad.net/ ] I like its interface, but its Bazaar based.

    Whats wrong with trac?
  • trisweb Administrator
I just really really like JIRA and Confluence. They're slick.

Luckyspin should be getting us some hosting soon I hope, and we'll be back up in no time.
  • woohoo!!!!!
  • not working again
  • trisweb Administrator
not working again -> still not up. Please be patient..
  • Still not working. Is there anywhere I can get support to install? Thanks.
  • Got it working.
  • trisweb Administrator
We're getting Trac set up instead. I'm importing bugs and wiki pages presently...
  • hmm, look @ google

they have project hosting, svn, wiki
    http://code.google.com/hosting/

    it's made for opensource projects

it may help with getting more people active in zenphoto
  • trisweb Administrator
Trac is now set up, you can access it at http://www.zenphoto.org/trac . I'm still working on getting old bugs and wiki content imported direct from the database (I'm not running JIRA/confluence again sadly)
  • what about wiki?
  • trisweb Administrator
Trac is also a Wiki, which is pretty nice. :-)
  • Just to say thant that you can put on the wiki my captcha hack ;)

  • @gregb34

I updated the wiki for you to include your captcha hack info. I knew it was around somewhere, I just wasn't sure what the working link was anymore....

    :)
  • This text on the homepage should probably be edited in light of the new Bugtracker and Wiki.

This release needs testers! Please test thouroughly and report bugs at the zenphoto bugtracker. You can leave minor concerns and help requests in the zenphoto support forums, or check the wiki for help. Unfortunately the Wiki and Bugtracker are still down while we search for reliable JSP hosting. Bear with us, and use the support forums for now. Please do not e-mail us asking for help. Thanks!
