Hey guys, I've been a longtime fan of Zenphoto and have used it on both my personal site as well as a client site.
Right now I'm starting a new website called the
CMS Design Resource where people can learn about different CMS's and Internet Applications like Zenphoto.
I could really use a few people to lend their expert opinions on Zenphoto to spread the word about Zenphoto and let others know what you think about it.

It would be nice if you also could point out that Zenphoto is quite more than just a "simple online gallery". Especially with the Zenpage CMS plugin it is actually a specialized CMS for portfolio/gallery focussed sites. With Zenphoto 1.2.4 Zenpage will also be included as an official plugin. Some info here if unknown: http://www.zenphoto.org/2009/03/zenpage-a-cms-plugin-for-zenphoto/
Maybe it should also be noted that you can also manage video and audio content.
Development: community driven
Wouldn't "open source" generally be the better term especially as you compare it with "commerical"? Actually we have actualy a team that does the core development which probably counts for all free CMSs.
Anyway, it's your site, I won't tell you what to write..:-)
PS: You should submit your own site to our showcase, I think it's not in there right now..:-)
As far as Community vs. Open Source... I did mention that its open source, I guess my train of that was that not all open source projects are community-developed sorts of things. A lot of commercial projects are now open source as well. Open source just basically means that the source code isn't hidden and can be modified, correct?
lol, oh yeah... actually my site is on there (sheepish grin) JesseSutherland.com, its mostly a Wordpress site, but the photo gallery is driven by Zenphoto. Which I'm a huge fan of.
I can fully understand the point about the plugins in general (never mind I am just biased on Zenphoto...:-))
Regarding Open Source, I guess you are right, "open source" vs "commerical" is not really good either. I was just thinking loud I guess.
PS: One general suggestion: It would be nice if there was a prev/next on the CMS detail view page so you could skip through them instead of returning to the list. How are they sorted actually? Lastest descending?
