Completely new here and need some answers please!

Hi,

I am developing a site right now, and the client wants to have a photo page that they can add photos to on their own (which seems like Zen Photo is perfect for). However, they also want the index page of their site to have a column that shows the most recent photos added (sort of like an rss feed of the latest 10 photos) and they want them to open up with lightbox if possible.

While going through the Zen Photo documentation, it seems to me that it is used mostly just for one single gallery page that is customizable, but I haven;t really come across easy ways to implement what I want to do with it.

Is Zen Photo the right application for this kind of thing? If not, does anyone have other suggestions? I can;t seem to find any other easy to use programs like this that the client can login and add images to on their own without me custom building a cms for them...

This is certainly possible. The zenpage-default theme comes close to your description. Just not the lightbox bit, but you could add that.

Review our theming guide and function documentation. I am sure you will find what you need.

Zenphoto is absolutly the right application for that but of course you will need to customize a theme or make a customized one to archieve what you want.

Ok cool, I'm gonna play around. I'm also wondering if it's possible t set up the gallery page inside a div rather than have the whole gallery on a page that is located at www.example.com/zenphoto

Sorry, probably really dumb and easy questions, but I just started blank with all this today haha.

I think no one has been successful at placing the gallery within an enclosing page. Most just make the gallery mimic the rest of their WEB site. Also look at the hacks section of the web pages for how to use parts of zenphoto on "external" pages. Look for `zenphoto as a plugin`.
