Hi, We did try 1.23 but there were several bugs at the time so we decided to fall back to 1.22.
Have you released a non-nightly build stable version of 1.23, your front page shows version 2/01/2009 which is the first release and buggy ?
As your site states: The following are nightly builds of Zenphoto. These may be unstable packages! They carry no guarantees or promises; install and use them at your own risk. They should be used only for testing purposes and not on production servers.
1.2.4 is scheduled on March 29th if you don't want to try a nightly. The nightlies are generally quite stable. Also by trying a nightly (of course first on a none live site...) you help discovering bugs that otherwise go in 1.2.4 then, too.
Hi, ok we will wait for 1.2.4 version and test on my local machine and help to fix any bugs, but I do think you should update your homepage download to stable release versions, otherwise we end up constantly updating with nighly builds.
Is there not a fix for the line break issue in the meantime ?
Also do you have any info on 1.2.4 changes / features.
Nightly builds are generally stable, but since they are made nightly, sometimes testing does not find all the problems. The release is considered a stable build as well, but as with all software, there will be bugs, some discovered, some not.
If you report a problem that we have fixed we will indicate that your should try the nightly build. It is, of course, up to you to decide if fixing the problem is worth moving off the release build. All fixes we make are in context of the nightly builds. There is a much higher probablilty of a fix breaking the software if it is applied in isolation than for the nightly build to be unstable.
Even with new releases you should consider testing for your environment before you go live. Who knows, maybe a bug specific to your environment exists so no one else has seen it. (Another good reason to test nightly builds--then you have a better chance to have `your` problems fixed in the general release.)
This is not good, we spent a week with a broken gallery using your 1.2.3 version, yes you were good for fixing the bugs but then we are forced to use nightly builds.
It was the sensible decision to downgrade to 1.2.2
Why don't you ask people to be (beta) testers with a firm policy to only publish versions that have been thouroughly tested by many people using different environments ?
Why don't you ask people to be (beta) testers with a firm policy to only publish versions that have been thouroughly tested by many people using different environments ? We actually do all the time. Please try the nightly to see if your issue is fixed and if you find anything else. Otherwise you basically loose the "right" to complain about any bug you will discover after 1.2.4 is released as you could have reported it before....:-)
What is your problem with the nightly builds? Did they not work for you? (I did not see any postings so saying.)
Of course you are not forced to run on any particular build of this software. You seem mostly to be interested in venting your anger rather than solving your issues. If so, we are done here.

This is a live site.
Can you please advise.
Many thanks

Does anyone else have an opinion on this ?
Thanks.

You have created the best photo gallery solution on the net and you do deserve a lot
of praise.
BTW: I am not angry.
