Suddenly my client can't upload....

I am stuck on this one: my client uploaded 24 images successfully...... then on further uploads, the name of the image showed up, but not the image itself. From another location I tried to upload images, and I CAN do it successfully... to the very album she cannot. She can't in IE or Firefox now. I'm not sure if she always has this error (NULL not an object) (a browser error) but sometimes the browser displays this...

As far as I know there is no limit on amount of pictures a person can upload..... I know about the total limit... but as I said, I can upload fairly large images to this album. She can create new albums, but cannot upload any images to them.

And this came on suddenly -
It seems to have nothing to do with the particular image - and she's tried uploading from her local desktop as well as from a disk - same problem.
any help much appreciated -

  • There is a memory limit on what can be uploaded. It will depend on your server. That will limit the number of images that can be uploaded at a time. So maybe she is running out of memory for processing the images she is uploading.

Also check the CGI error logs, maybe there is an indicator in them.
  • Thank you for this -
I didn't see anything in the error logs but maybe they are the wrong logs and I will look again.

The server is Hostgator - I will confer with them -
and post here again and thank you for answering - I am totally in the dark on this one.
  • I want to THANK YOU for your reply, sbillard, I greatly appreciate it. I did check the permissions and the logs.....logs seemed ok and it turned out the images were going to the server but they weren't being displayed by zenphoto. The solution was that my client was uploading giant images straight from a digital camera.... I think they were too big for ZP to process ...... worked out once I determined how big these were.

    thanks for a great product

No, they were too big for your client's server. Please read the troubleshooting guide on our site.
