Search form with check boxes

i would like to have check boxes for inputs in the search form, i tried doing so with tags as the values, but it will only return the results of one check box. I tried adding hidden inputs to add the coma in but that didn't seem to work. Im a pretty big noob so i was hoping someone could point me in the right direction at least.
