.htaccess file not included in zip download

I'm brand new to ZenPhoto and I'm having some difficulty getting my browser directed to the right files. It appears that the file .htaccess is crucial for this, but this file was not in the zip file that I downloaded. Am I missing something?

    Sounds like you are a Macintosh user. That OS likes to hide things from you. There really is a .htaccess file in the distribution. You need to use an FTP program that shows you all the files.

    Well, on Mac you normally do not need to see invisible files..:-) Additionally there are several tools out there to display hidden files on Mac, too. Try a search on macupdate.com or versiontracker.com.

    Note also that the better FTP clients have the option to view (and transfer) invisible files without having to set all invisible files to visible
