Installing ZenPhoto using SimpleScripts

I just installed ZenPhoto using SimpleScripts from my hostmonster.com account. I am now trying to access the administration area for ZenPhoto and even though I set a custom username and password for admin login, I keep getting the error "username and password are incorrect." i have tried sending myself the password reset, and the login page confirms that the message was sent, yet, i never receive an email with a password reset.

Can you help me out?

Okay, so, because i don't really know what i'm doing when i go to the MySQL side of things, i figured i might be able to edit one of the files. so far, all i have figured out how to do is change my email address so that I can receive the password reset emails. however, when I go to the weblink to reset my password, it does not reset the password. after clicking "save," the webpage refreshes back to Admin Login, but it still says my password is incorrect.

Is there a corrupt file that needs to be reset from the SimpleScripts installation?

Sorry, we do not support SimpleScripts or similar installation help scripts as said on our Forum rules. Please contact the provider of this script or install Zenphoto the way we describe on our site. Thanks for understanding. Maybe a user may help though.
  • There have been a number of reprots of password problems when Simplescripts is used to install zenphoto. That script must be doing something terribly wrong to cause this, but the solution is, as acrylian said, to contact the developers of simplescripts or not to use it.

well, i followed the first set of advice, i separately downloaded zenphoto and ftp'd it to my website. the installation is working well.

    i have another question now.

my zenphoto gallery works fine if i navigate to it using this link: http://www.scottbhoward.com/photos

however, if i try navigating to is using the subdomain: http://photos.scottbhoward.com i am only able to see the front page of zenphoto gallery. afterward, i get error pages, and i don't know how to fix this. can you help me?
  • You have to do one of two things. Either give up having two ways to get to your gallery and set it up for either the subdomain or the subfolder. (Run setup from the appropriate link) or you have to reset mod_rewrite.

The .htaccess file is able to handle only one location.
