Subalbums - an Update

  • Zenphoto rocks even without the subfolders! Thank you again for making this available to us all.

Subfolders would be an excellent addition to Zenphoto, but as you are giving up your personal time to do this, I applaud you for any effort you put into Zenphoto. THANK YOU!
  • Just MHO, but if one of the features planned for the rewrite were some sort of plugin system or the like (a'la wordpress), I think that could take a lot of the pressure off you and put it more onto the userbase to develop addtl features. As long as the hooks were in place, we could get our geek on and hopefully develop things that some people want, but others don't need (eg: lightbox, exif/iptc, etc).

That said, I completely understand how software can be one's baby and very personal, so i'd understand if you *aren't* aiming for that at all :)

Either way, i'm still excited for whatever changes you intend to make, and subalbums will be fantastico for many, many folks (I know for sure me). Kudos to tris and everyone else who has helped to this point in development :)
  • Tris, we all aprecciate your work and thank you.

I'm not a big PHP developer but I think I could help with some some... Anything I could do to help you, to not loose interest in ZP, count on me.

What about, then, a topic for "features requests" for ZP 2.0??
I think "plugins" or "extensions" are features that's in high approval of all developers... Firefox, Joomla, Wordpress and so on are good examples... That way we could keep ZP simple and perfect as it is... And the others developers could extend it as needed...

But I think with subalbums ZP would be just perfect for me.
Well, the possibility to "include" it in an already made existant template would be great too...

    Cheers

And sorry for my bad english...
  • A holiday should fix it :)

I always feel so inspired once I return from holidays with so many photos that i want to write my own gallery software! :)
  • Agreed, ZP has got to be the best gallery software I have had the pleasure of working with, don't burn yourself out Tristan
