I have downloaded an akismet plugin from your site which is stated as being compatible with ZenPhoto 1.2.x (I have 1.2.5 installed), however upon activation I am not presented with any evidence that the plugin is running, such as a place to enter my API key or a tick box/drop down to activate it on the comments configuration.
Is anyone using Akismet with ZenPhoto 1.2.5 and if so how did they get it running? I am using Akismet on my WordPress blog and it is very successful at catching spam. Unfortunately my lack of Akismet on ZenPhoto is causing me to get spammed that way and the spam volumes are increasing on a daily basis.
Any and all help appreciated.

Also, the installation instructions that are included with the plugin are incorrect. The plugin must be placed in the `plugins/spamfilters/` folder, not the `plugins` folder.
I would also like to say thanks to all the ZenPhoto developers for a great product. I made the switch from gallery a while ago and have never looked back - I absolutely love it. Keep up the good work.
Following advice from the following site:
http://blog.defv.be/2008/2/22/akismet-problems
I added "Connection: close" to the headers of the akismet HTTP request in the plugin, just below line 251
The plugin now functions perfectly and all spam is being blocked by Akismet with no slow posting issues.
In case anyone was wondering where to obtain the plugin you can do so from the ZenPhoto SVN here:
http://www.zenphoto.org/svn/tags/1.2.3/zp-core/plugins/spamfilters/
Hope this helps!
You can create a ticket and attach your updated file. Maybe we can even fix the install instructions:)
