Implement comments, ratings, views on index page

Hey,
i would like to give my visitors some additional information to every album on the index page, but i don't know how to implement them.
At first i'd like to show how many comments were posted in an album (not in the gallery) furthermore i would like to show the average value of all rated pictures in the album and at least the sum of all picture-views in the album (an alternative would be to show the albums views instead).

Also i'd like to label the newest (posted earlier than two weeks) albums with an image on the album index.

I hope that someone can help me to realise that features. As a countermove i am going to share my theme with the community when it's done (it's better than my English :P).

    You will need to review the functions guide, particularly the image and album objects for the garnering the information. Also review the themeing guide for some useage information.

    The most challenging will be your labeling the newest albums. If all you want to do is show the images without any change to the thumbnails it will be just a matter of fetching the images by date. If you want to masage the thumb order, about your only option is to manually sort the images. If you do some manual placement it is unlikely you will get pagination correct.
