top level directory install issues

I've installed zenphoto in the top level directory of my site, and the gallery itself is working great.

Unfortunately I'm having major issues with loading directories and files on my site now. These directories contain modules to edit text / stored files etc.. All I get when I try to load them is an error "The Zenphoto object you are requesting cannot be found."

*edit: I've discovered that removing the htaccess files from the said directories allows the files to be loaded...

Is there a way to put those htaccess files back and prevent zenphoto from taking control when those directories are loaded?

Probably your server does not support modrewrite (Zenphoto's setup programm should have warned about that). Try to disable the modrewrite option if your server does not support modrewrite.

If you have already another system for your site on the top level dir then you probably have a htaccess conflict. Try installing zenphoto in a folder then.
  • The thing that seems not working on your site is the part of the .htaccess that checks to see if the item in the url is an existing file. That would be some kind of server thing not directly related to Zenphoto.
