Clickable tags under each image for searching

Congratulations on a great product. I especially appreciate the option to use external folders so as
to avoid the need for duplicate photos on a server.

Another feature that would be great would be an option to display IPTC keywords (Tags) under each image as clickable search links in a manner similar to many CMS systems, like Drupal. Are there any such plans? If not, could this be done via a plug in?

No plugin or plans needed, it all can already be done but you will have to modify your theme yourself. Simply use the image tag functions within the next_image loop on album.php.

Please review our functions guide and the theming tutorial for the details and function names.
  • Thank you for the advice.
  • it's great how one can modify this by simply adding some functions to the theme. great work, again. thanks!

@drucktshirt: Be careful with your recent thread resurrecting.
  • Can this be made easy for users with no programming experience - it would really set Zenphoto apart from Gallery and others. Drupal has this feature but lacks a good gallery module.

    BTW, what is "thread resurrecting"?

Depends on what you consider "programming experience". You will have to modify your theme with the related functions that are documentation to do this. This envolves a little programming by adding theme functions to your theme. You should at least have basic web technique knowledge, that is not avoidable.

Not everything can be done by just setting options. Zenphoto's real flexibility lies in the theming actually and every theme can be different. Zenphoto is also a kind of gallery framework.

I suggest to first read the theming tutorial to get familiar with Zenphoto themes.

"thread resurrection": That user was in suspicion of actually posting spam (advertising hte link in his profile) as he "resurrected" or "revived" another old thread without actually really contributing to it. (if I remember correctly)
