Cannot reset/cannot log in... nothing!!!

I am at a total loss here... I am not understanding how to reset my passowrd on the Gallery. Well, I understand that but I also lost my user name... It is just not going through as I need to add photos... Can anyone explain me?

    I am sorry but I still do not understand. I lost my user name also. I just cannot figure out how to set up my user name and reset a new password. I get that window but of course I have to reset my user name too...
    Wish you had a live or phone tech support I could call and you walk me through. Not everyone is computer savy... I am not! Of course I will save it somewhere I can find it if this mess is ever solved...

    Here is the annotated version of the link acrylian posted.

    `I forgot my admin password, now what do I do?
    If you supplied an email address in the Admin options there should be a Captcha string image on the log-on page. Entering that string as the log-on password will email you a link to reset your password. If the Captcha is not there, or if you don’t get the email, you need to delete some database items.'

    email resets do not change the user id of the admin, they just allow you the opportunity to change your password. Of course, if you have provided no email address or if Zenphoto is not able to send emails on your server this option is not available to you and you must use the following:

    `Delete the Administrators table. You may also have to delete the rows of the Option table where the name field is adminuser and adminpass if they exist in your installation.`

    You will need to use a MySQL management tool such as PHPmyAdmin to do the above. If you do not know how to use such a tool, please contact your service provider. We are not able to help you in managing your site.

    `Run setup to recreate the table. You will be prompted to enter a new admin user name and password. Now be sure there is an email address to send the reset link the next time!`

    Of course deleting the table means that no information that was stored there is retained. Thus of course you must create a new user id as well as new password.

We make this software because we are interested in it. We make no money on it and we have our own lives to live as well.

    We try to provide support through our troubleshooting guide and this Website. But it is really necessary for you to develop some detective skills (such as figuring out what the second reset option means.)

    I did not mean to insinuate you do not have a Life... sorry about that.
    Yes, all this is Chinese to me... and my webmaster/friend is missing in action!
    I guess I am stuck now realizing that I cannot even remember my user name. I do get the e mails to change the password, of course not knowing the use name it does not help.
    How about just this once you give me a user name and password and fix it for me... You have no idea how much that would be appreciated...
    Please...

    Ok, your user name is BOB and your password is BOB'sPassword.

    OK now?

    Of course you will have to go through the reset procedure and enter these values.

    Seriously, Zenphoto does not create user/passwords. It does not even remember what a user's password is. These are things you will just have to take the responsibility of remembering.

    Thanks for trying. All I know how to do is reset my passowrd, not my user name which I have unfortunately and amazingly lost.

    You say you do get the emails. Did you click on the link? Did it take you to the admin page where you could change your password?

    Is the user name upper left in blue or is it what it calls "full name". It is the same name. Do lower or upper case makes any difference... I have tried a few times changing the password, or creating one really with that name... but says incorrect everytime... I thinking it is not on my end... I'll try again... Have tried a dozen times...

    I have tried both many times... put in a password above and save... then on to the login little window and always is incorrect...

    yes... yes... and yes... I really think it is on your end... not recognizing a password change...

    Character case always matters.

    Password changes work, at least on the current version of Zenphoto. I don't know what version you are running and am not going to go back and test all the older versions.

    Did you install using simplescripts? If so, please go read our forum rules.

    Considering the copy and paste form I posted above, I was merely asking what my user name would be? Ara or ara...
    The reset is not working either way... and I have no clue what version I am running, it is a new one. I have no clue either what simplescripts are...
    Maybe my webmaster will know...
