Hello, I've installed Zen Photo 1.2.6 on my local internally-housed LAMP server and I've been testing it out. One thing I noticed is that when I have a bunch of pre-tagged images and I upload them, Zen Photo only displays the tags of certain images. If you save the image the tags are definitely still all there in the meta data, though. Just for some reason Zen Photo doesn't recognize and display them on certain images. It's either all of the IPTC keyword tags display for the image or none are displayed at all. I can't figure out why that is.
The images were tagged using Windows 7's built in ability to tag and also using Google's Picasa 3. The "goal" is to have people here pre-tag their images with keywords and then I'll drop them into Zen Photo so that we have one central image repository.
Anyone have any suggestions as to why some of the images retain their tags and others don't? This is a show-stopper on using this product for my organization if I can't get it fixed. I really like Zen Photo, though.

You will have to help us with that and find out what is different with those images that work and those don't. You can create a ticket on the bugtracker then and attach one not working image as an example and we will try to look at it.
My collegue sbillard who is the expert on the EXIF stuff will be bascially unavailable until next week but on his return we reach implementation freeze for the 1.2.7 release so don't expect this too soon.
Do you know which photos were tagged using Windows 7 vs Picasa etc? I've heard of issues tagging with windows 7 already when looking into options for geo-tagging photos.
