Theme clarification

What I'm about to say may be obvious, but I'd still like confirmation before launching into it: I currently am using the Default theme and notice that a number of the fields in the Images table, such as credit or EXIFArtist, don't display. Thus, if I want one of the unshown fields to display, I need to modify the theme. Right?
