Gallery main page white after image upload

Hi,

after ftp uploading a batch of images the gallery mainpage remains a white page, while album pages are still working.

If there are any ideas, I would be happy to know.

Here is a link for a check.

http://www.djsphotoart.com/gallery2/index.php (stayes white)
http://www.djsphotoart.com/gallery2/places (comes up nice)

Thanks for having a look

Dieter

Please look at your server's error log.
  • I just did but cant see anything related to the fact that the index page is not working.

Here the last two error messages:

[Sun Dec 20 19:21:01 2009] [error] [client ] File does not exist: www.djsphotoart.com/favicon.ico, referer: http://www.djsphotoart.com/gallery2/index.php
[Sun Dec 20 19:30:19 2009] [error] [client ] Premature end of script headers: index.php

    Thanks again for checking

  • Your index page HTML does not look like what zenphoto creates. Perhaps you have corrupt file in your scripts
  • Thats very strange.

However, it does look like there is a corrupt file.

Do you have an idea how to reinstall the hole script without loosing the database or which file might cause the strange behavior to just change 1 file.

... or do I have to replace them just 1 by 1?

    Thanks again

  • Normally you would just re-copy the files and run setup. However the 1.2.7 release has a bug that causes discriptions to be lost in some cases, so I recommend you download the 1.2.8 release candidate and install it instead.
  • Thanks you very much,

that was working. The gallery is back up. I still lost all descriptions of the images but since I made the backup of the database just before reinstalling, I wouldn't be able to tell when it happened.
It meight have happened already while trying to restore the index-page without reinstalling everything.

Since I could not find anything on the board related to the loss of a page, are there similar cases and what can be done to prevent this from happening again.
If there are already some articles which I just didn't find, I already be happy to be pointed in the right direction.

    However, thanks again

Sometimes downloads do not work correctly for whatever reasons so that files can be corrupt if the archive is damaged or the FTP client messes something up while uploading. Not much one can do against that than uploading again.
  • Thank you for your quick response and help.

  • thank you, thank you!! I struggled with this for hours yesterday. corrupt file grrrr!
