Albums per page error?

I seem to be having a recurring problem with the albums per page displayed, no idea why either. I set it to 9 (3x3 grid) but instead it displays 10. set it 8 gives me 8, set to 7 gives me 8 and setting it to 5 or 6 gives 6...either there's a gremlin about or I've done something somewhere.
Oh and using most recent build too
