Installation BUG - PDO with mySQL do not work

Hi,

I have used Zen Photo many times as it is by far the best Gallery management software on the internet.... However recently I have found a bug, which I hope you can resolve in the next distribution.

Another of my clients requires PDO running on my server, so I added this. Since doing this, Zen Photo will not install. Install/Setup does not work when PDO is running on the server. What happens is as usual I run through the usual setup process and when it gets to the point of creating the database, nothings happens nad the install unfortunately fails.

Is this a known issue, if so, is there a work around as I cannot keep removing PDO each time I need to install the software on my server.

Once the software is installed, it runs perfectly with PDO reinstalled. It is just the install that fails.

I look forward to your response and help

Steve

I don't know as it is installing on my host without any problems that also has PDO installed:
pdo_mysql PDO Driver for MySQL, client library version 5.0.32
Maybe that helps you. I am sadly not a server expert.
  • Are there any error indications? EitherCGI (PHP script) or MySQL? WIthout some indication of what is failing we really can't do anything. Additionally, many servers will not let Zenphoto create a database, only the tables within it. So maybe you need to first create the database before running setup.

BTW, you say that things run once the software is installed. This is somewhat of a confusing point since you also say that setup fails. So, how do you get the software installed?
