can't edit page as admin

hello everyone,

i have a problem concerning the rights of the pages created with zenpage. the default author-(group?) is called administrators - didn't changed that to the specific user (logged in as the zenphoto master) but i can't edit the pages which i set to 'locked for changes' yesterday (logged in now with the very same master user) - the buttons are just greyed out like they should if logged in with another, non-admin user.
any ideas how to fix this?

  • The code insists on the "master" user being logged in to override the lock. Go to your admin page and see which user is now labeled the Master.

This was probably an oversite as that feature was from the time before the introduction of user groups.
  • well, i'm logged in as master - haven't had any other accounts as the problem appeared. i then created another admin to see if i can edit the page that way. but it doesn't worked out.
any other ideas what i can do to get it unlocked? - btw, i'm running and initially installed the latest zenphoto version 1.2.8 [4881].

Please try the nightly build. My collegue has included a fix for this issue. Otherwise you will have to go to the database direclty and edit the option for locking the page.
  • is it possible to just apply a patch for this specific problem... i don't really want to install a nightly build on a production server (correct me if i'm wrong, but the nightly builds are packed from the development branch? or are there seperate branches which are merged into the nightly builds if the new code works?) - unless you can say more or less for sure that nothing else will break...

We don't recommend to apply patches as we don't test fixes separately (of course you can try by using file compare on your own risk). We also do only have one developement branch from which indeed the nightly is generated (it is noted) as we are just a very small team.

If you don't want to try the nightly (of course not on a live install!) you will have to wait until the next release. But trying the nightly will help to make the next one better!
  • It is very likely that this change can be applied against the 1.2.8 base release. However, we have not tried that combination, so I certainly would not put it on a production server without some testing.

Also, please note, I do not recommend using the nightly build of 1/26/2010 as there is an issue in it regarding album sorting. That issue will be corrected in the 1/27 build. However, it is probably a good idea to let things mature--the image and album sorting has just been rewritten attempting to address a different problem.
