What the is .httpaccess?

Hey
I get this when i try uploading photos
"The requested URL /zp/index.php was not found on this server."

I searched the forum, but can´t understand where or what i should edit.
My gallery-adress is here http://die-nasty.net/zenphoto/

In your zenphoto directory, you'll see a file named .htaccess. You need to edit this file in a text editor and change the line that says:
`RewriteBase /zp`
to
`RewriteBase /zenphoto`
